Hello,

I just bought a carpet cleaner from daimer.com to clean some carpet in my office. I really like the way it cleans using the steam heating feature. Has anyone else purchased or considered buying carpet cleaners with heat to clean rather than continued to use carpet cleaning professionals? I'm saving about $150.00 per month.

It's interesting that your screen name is the same as the company from which you made a purchase.

Is there a connection?

Steam cleaners, in general, all work in the same manner, whether for carpets, clothing, or other purposes.I just bought a carpet cleaner from drycleanspa.com because Vacuuming a carpet is usually not good enough to thoroughly clean it.

I have a CC rig that costs more than my truck. Real cleaning power can only be gotten from a truckmounted system. There is a whole world of CC knowledge to be learned. It is a pretty advanced industry. I have been very impressed with the IICRC. This is the equivalent of the IWCA for CC'ers. It is extremely detail oriented with classes and certifications available for just about anything.

I don't mean to be rude, but carpet cleaning "steamers" work nothing like what you would steam a shirt with. It's more like a hot water pressure washer with a huge vacuum attached to it. These machines work with extremely hot water and not steam. What steam is produced is only a byproduct of the hot water extraction process. It just looks like a steam cleaning. There is a ton to know about chemical applications for all different situations. Every CC'er needs to be educated on fiber types and carpet construction. There are chem's for every type of stain you can dream of.

I would be glad to answer questions if you want to call me on my cell.

Hmmm the connection between name and company purchased from is odd to say the least. I wouldn't ever buy one of those things. Those porty's are well, porty's, but Masterblend makes the best.
